Summary: Draco gets a new brother.
New Addition
“Why?” Whined the little blonde boy as he clung to his father’s hand.
“We’ve already discussed this Draco,” Lucius said to his son, trying to keep his patience.
“But I don’t want a brother,” he pouted.
“This little boy is your Papa’s godson. So, you want your Papa to be sad that you don’t want to welcome our new family member?”
Draco’s eyes widened in horror at the thought of making his Papa sad. As much as he hated the thought of sharing his parents, he heated them being sad even more.
“Alright, I’ll be nice,” he told his father grudgingly.
Lucius smiled at the face his son had. At eight years old, he looked the spitting image of himself at that age. He knew that Draco was a bit spoiled but since he had remarried after Narcissa had died in the first war, he had gotten better. Lucius was excited to welcome their new family member. They’d had been fighting in the courts since they’d married four years ago to bring him home. He’d gone head to head against Dumbledore on the matter. They had finally won custody when they boy’s current guardians had been charged with child neglect and abuse. Once that had become common knowledge to the Wizarding public, there’d been an uproar with the public calling for Dumbledore’s and Fudges heads.
The Wizengamot in response to the evidence turned custody over to the Malfoy family. This was a giant black eye for the Headmaster of Hogwarts, one he’d not soon recover from. The little boy had spent two months in a Muggle hospital before anyone had found out what had happened to him. Once the Wizengamot had gotten involved, he been transferred to St Mungos. He was finally coming home to him after another month in the hospital. They healers that St Mungos had done all he could feel the boy, but I like what Muggles thought; magic didn’t cure everything. The starvation the child had endured had permanently stunted his growth. He would still grow, but would never be a tall man like his father. They were able to correct his vision and they had had to re-break all his miss healed bones in order to heal them properly. His husband had completely broken down he had heard all the injuries that a child of a should have not gone through.
The flaring of the floo brought Lucius out his thoughts. He looked down when Draco squeezed his hand. He looked up to see Remus stepped from the flames holding a tiny dark-haired boy in his arms. Remus smiled to see his husband and son standing there to greet them. He rubbed the back of the trembling little boy in his arms. “We’re here little one,” he said.
Draco was shocked at the sight of the new addition to their family. He was so small and when he looked in to the timid green eyes, he knew that he’d never let anyone hurt him. He let go of his father’s hand and slowly walked over to his Papa and new brother. The dark - haired boy nervously looked down at him.
“Hi, I’m Draco,” he said.
Large green eyes blinked being used at the other boy, “I’m Harry,” he replied shyly.
“Do you like Quidditch?” Draco asked him seriously.
“What’s Quidditch?” Harry asked as he wrinkled his brow in confusion.
“Only the best sport in the world. Papa and down I have to tell Harry about Quidditch,” Draco said as he looked up at his Papa.
Remus chuckled as he gently set Harry down. “All right,” he said to the impatient-year-old.
Draco reached out and took his new brother by the hand. “I’ll tell you all about it and you can’t even use the training broom until father and Papa get you your own,” Draco told Harry as he saved document led them from the receiving room.
Lucius chuckled at the site as he walked over to his husband. He wrapped his arms around him and gave him a soft kiss. “Happy now that both pups are safe together?” He asked.
Remus chuckled softly, “yes,” he was happy now that their family was complete.
